Baseball Concepts AZ Coaches
Ben Villines
Pitching/Fielding/Hitting

My name is Ben Villines, I am the pitching coach at Glendale Community College (GCC). I’m a former collegiate pitcher turned coach from Southern California, where I was fortunate to be surrounded by incredible baseball talent and coaching. I attended El Toro High School, a program that has produced some of MLB’s biggest stars, including Nolan Arenado, Matt Chapman, and 2023’s #1 overall pick, Paul Skenes.
My own college career was cut short due to multiple shoulder surgeries that kept me from ever returning to the mound, but that setback redirected me into coaching—a path I’ve now been pursuing for nearly a decade. My brother played professionally in the Texas Rangers organization at the AAA level, which gave me the opportunity to learn and integrate the latest pitching techniques and training methods into my coaching.
From 2018 to 2023, I co-founded and served as head trainer of Baseball Concepts, a Michigan-based training facility where I worked with thousands of players, helping dozens reach the college ranks and a handful move on to professional baseball. In 2023, I launched Baseball Concepts AZ to bring that same level of development to Arizona athletes. I also served as the pitching coach at Paradise Honors High School for two seasons (2024–2025), a role that came to an end with my transition to the Glendale staff.
I’ve had the privilege of working with players of all ages and skill levels, and my approach is centered on meeting each athlete where they are while pushing them toward their highest potential. As a Driveline-certified coach, I specialize in designing proven, individualized throwing programs that prioritize performance, health, and longevity on the mound.
